A birthday party, a $2 talent show, a Christmas party, and a few hops to other spots in between.
I know it’s hard to see the outfit because I’m wearing a coat in nearly every photo, but the dress was a thrifted little black number (still with tags on it!!) for a whopping $8. The boots are old favorites (also thrifted for under $10), and the coat is a many-moons-old Target find with deep pockets. It was a non-negotiable, “purchase this new thing now!” because I despise carrying a purse. Practicality always wins.
The fishnets came out of my costume bin from my old Bitch Switch DJ days and honestly I’m thinking of having them as a staple in my ‘going out’ gear.
I had two beers and half a shot of some truly terrible Chicago whiskey and still woke up with a hangover. Getting older and learning what I can tolerate will likely be a recurring theme around here. At least I was in bed by midnight, so there’s that.
Getting older, learning my limits, choosing clarity while also embracing honesty, some tears, and belly laughs - all of it feels like part of the same lesson lately. I’ll take it.
I’m not perfect, but I’m paying more attention…
’Tis the season.
